Health and safety policy
Contents
Overview
Every employer with 5 or more employees must create a written health and safety policy that sets out how the business plans, organises, controls, monitors and reviews the preventive and protective measures in used to manage health and safety.
However, even if you have fewer employees, it is still best practice to have this policy in writing so that everyone at work understands how you will comply with your health and safety duties and what is expected of them. It also provides evidence, should you be required to prove it, that you have taken the necessary actions to remain compliant.
